Landform before floor plan
For rural and lifestyle properties I look at slope, drainage, road approach, relative height, surrounding landform, likely building platform, access and how the site gathers or releases movement.
This is particularly important before a new build, subdivision decision or major site-planning commitment, because once a building platform is fixed, many spatial relationships become difficult to change.
