House-Buying Feng Shui | Feng Shui Master You
Updated: Sep 27
Buying a home is a major financial and lifestyle decision. Feng Shui is most useful before you commit, when there is still an opportunity to compare properties rather than trying to correct every problem afterward.
Start outside the house
The first review looks at the wider environment: slope and contour, drainage, roads, intersections, neighbouring buildings, retaining walls, water, access, exposure and the relationship between higher and lower ground.
Then examine the building
The main entrance, building shape, internal circulation, stairs, kitchen, bedrooms, bathrooms, living areas, privacy and daylight are assessed together. A single feature such as a T-junction is never judged in isolation.
What makes a problem important
Distance, height, speed, direction, scale and the ability of the site to receive or disperse movement all matter. The same road or slope can behave differently at different properties.
Traditional Feng Shui and BaZi
Traditional Form School, Five Elements, directional analysis and BaZi can be added to the assessment where useful. These are interpretive frameworks rather than guarantees of health, wealth, relationships or future events.
Quick review or deeper assessment
Some buyers need a fast screening of one or more listings; others need a more detailed review of a chosen property, including plans, photographs, maps and an online or on-site consultation.
What to send
Provide the property address or listing link, floor plan if available, photographs or video, who will live there and the main questions you want answered.
The goal
The goal is not to find a 'perfect' house. It is to understand the property's strengths, constraints and difficult-to-change features before you make a large commitment.
