What Can an Online Feng Shui Consultation Really See?

Many people assume an online Feng Shui consultation means sending a floor plan and asking for a quick opinion. A systematic remote assessment is very different.

A property should be assessed within its real environment. Maps, satellite imagery, property listings, floor plans, photos and video can provide a surprisingly complete picture before an on-site visit is required.

What information do we need?

A useful assessment may include the property address, satellite imagery, road relationships, landform and elevation, the real-estate listing, floor plan, photos, videos, orientation, key measurements and the client's specific concerns.

The analysis sequence: form first

I generally work through the external environment, landform and elevation, roads, property position, entrance and movement, and then the interior layout. Only after the real spatial relationships are understood do I add Compass Feng Shui and, where useful, personalised BaZi.

The order matters: understand the property itself first; then consider direction and time; finally consider how the property relates to the people who will use it.

What can online Feng Shui help with?

Remote assessment is particularly useful for pre-purchase screening, comparing two or more homes, reviewing a proposed design, preliminary renovation decisions, and consultations for clients who are outside Auckland or overseas.

For complex land development or major architectural projects, an on-site visit can still add important information. But online assessment can be an effective first step before a client buys, signs, redesigns or builds.

Form, Compass Feng Shui and BaZi

My approach is layered. First comes the physical environment and spatial structure. Second comes orientation, direction and timing. Third comes personalised BaZi when the occupants' life stage, work, family structure and priorities matter to the decision.

Good Feng Shui consultation is not about putting a simple “good” or “bad” label on a property. It is about understanding how the environment acts on the property — and how that property may, in turn, act on you.
