Site Planning Feng Shui begins before the house or building is fixed on the land. This is where Feng Shui can add the most value: by helping compare positions, orientations and access patterns before construction limits the options.

Read the land before the floor plan

The first step is the site itself: slope, contours, drainage, water movement, retaining, neighbouring forms, roads, views, wind exposure, vegetation and the relationship between higher and lower ground.

Building position

On a large or sloping site, the exact building platform can matter more than small interior adjustments. The review considers stability, enclosure, approach, outlook, rear support, open space and how the building sits within the wider landform.

Roads, access and entrance

Driveway direction, turning, arrival sequence and the relationship between the road and main entrance are examined together rather than as isolated symbols.

Orientation and internal planning

Once a suitable position is identified, orientation, entrance, living areas, kitchen, bedrooms and service spaces can be reviewed in relation to sun, privacy, movement and traditional Feng Shui principles.

Landscape as part of the plan

Planting, screens, retaining, courtyards, open space and water management can be used to strengthen enclosure and improve the transition between house and site.

Working with the project team

Recommendations can be marked on concept plans and discussed with architects, designers, landscape professionals and engineers. Their technical and regulatory requirements remain essential.

Best stage to engage

The ideal time is before the building platform, driveway, orientation and major room relationships are locked in. Early review usually creates more options and fewer expensive corrections.
